Have an answer before asking a mentor

Insights I got from a mentor

Before asking a question to a mentor, figure out your own answer before.

Don't ask questions lacking depth and consideration. Don't ask questions that are easily googleable, or solvable.

If you can figure it out, do it. Train it. The point is to long term compound. Mentors are a valuable resource that should be used to improve your thinking and mindset, not for easy answers.

If you don't have an answer to your question, a good mentor will push you to figure it out.

Getting instant outcomes isn't the point. It's to train yourself to come to that point- even if it takes a lot longer time. Showing your thought process and rationale allows another to break it down and give feedback. Your internal algorithm will improve and do better on future data points. Think long term.
